Celeste Amescua was nervous at the beginning of her journey, but in the end was filled with excitement.
The Orestimba High School standout recently committed to play softball at Northland University in the fall.
"It was pretty cool," she said. "Being recruited was pretty fun and it was a little scary, but in the end was worth it."
Amescua was grateful for her decision to have Prep Showcase Recruiting Service help her on the road to playing college softball.
"Prep Showcase really helped me out," she said. "I liked it because I got to talk to a lot of college coaches. They helped me understand that I have to speak up and helped me get noticed."
Amescua will be pursuing her degree in Education and plans on being a history teacher. Even though the California girl will be headed to Wisconsin to play ball she is excited about the change. College playing opportunities can come from anywhere and her father, Ed, appreciates all the work going into the recruiting process.
"From the first call from (Prep Showcase) I felt connected," he said. "They were really good throughout the process. I got great feedback and they went above and beyond the call of duty for us."
There is a lot of excitement in the Amescua family in regards to Celeste's future.
"Anyone who really wants to play (college) softball can," he said. "They just have to want to do it and do everything they can to want to do it."
